Sculpted signs from SignCraft’s July/August 2010

Thursday, July 01, 2010

There’s something about the creative use of dimension that adds a lot of extra appeal to a sign—especially when it looks like a carved graphic. The problem is that carving can add a lot of time to a sign’s cost. Dan Sawatzky shows how he uses sculpting epoxy to do this quickly and easily in the July/August issue of SignCraft.

Dan is a firm believer in using a creative approach to maximize the advertising potential of a sign. His signs often use a little whimsy or entertainment value to draw the viewer into the message. At the same time, it sets his work apart in the eyes of prospective clients, which makes selling such signs easier.

Click here to see how Dan used sculpting epoxy on several project. You’ll find the complete how-to in the July/August issue of SignCraft.

can anyone tell me whats the best why to bring business into a shop after being out for 4 years and starting over, besides contacting old customers and if that dosn't work what can I do?

I would say focus on advertising. Start out with a new website that showcases your previous work. A new site can be developed relatively cheap. After the site is live you can spend a little money on some advertising sources for the industry like signsearch or use some SEO (search engine optimization) methods to get new business in the door from your new site

    Works well for us.
