Getting an early start
My daughter Laura was four at the time when I was gilding the Grosvenor Museum sign. When she walked into the workshop, I had my camera in hand.
So I said, “You know what to do, don’t you, Laura?” She picked up a sheet of transfer [patent] gold and rubbed it on as easily as that. The Chester Council used the picture on a flyer for a Heritage Skills Faire.
