Bill Gottsman

Bill Gottsman, sign painter, sign designer and frequent contributor to SignCraft died February 27, 2016. He was 97—but he was certainly not “old.”

I’ve met a fair number of remarkable people in 36 years of SignCraft, and Bill is among them. When I first met him, when he was retired from the sign business and teaching at the Butera School of Art in Boston. I use retired loosely because Bill never truly left the business.
