Design Clinic: Truck lettering

The company name Southern qualifies whose fencing business this is. I chose to use a crimson red to contrast with the muted green shape below and balance well with the other design elements. Last, but not least, is our much-debated phone number. Moving vehicles certainly challenge readers to be able to read and remember those 10 highly valued numerals. Nonetheless, it is important. Using the same neutral black color along with the lighter-faced version of the same type used on the word Fencing links the product with how to contact this company.
Overall, two separate color blocks work together to form one design. One is Fencing and the phone number. The other is Southern and Mowing.
Simple you say? Yes, it is! There aren’t a ton of colors, shades, outlines or blends. It’s straightforward, high-contrast truck lettering that people on the street will not only look at but read and understand at the same time, which was our goal right from the start.
