Ted Maddock

For over 60 years, Ted Maddock produced creative signs in the San Jose, California, area. He was first featured in SignCraft in the January/February 1984 issue. SignCraft learned recently that Ted died April 13, 2016, at the age of 87.

Ted was an outstanding sign designer, watercolorist and avid jazz fan. He worked in several top sign shops in the San Jose area before returning to his native Watsonville to open Ted Maddock signs in 1975. He was nationally recognized for his watercolors, and to no surprise, signs and lettering often appeared in his paintings. —Editors
