I get a kick out of setting a sign in perfectly with its environment, and I’ve always tried to do that in Creemore. Signs that fit like that can add a lot to the look and feel of a community. I get a lot of satisfaction from that.
The market for premium signs is quite small and always has been, so marketing this work has always been a bit of a challenge. Fortunately, many of my customers remember me, and many of my signs are still up in the Creemore area. Before, most of my work came from within a 200-mile radius of Creemore. I think that will still be the case.
Word-of-mouth is still the best advertising for me. I get a few inquiries from online, but when someone sees your work then seeks you out it’s completely different. They know what you can do.
