Hand-lettered signs bear the maker’s mark

Dear SignCraft,

Back in the day B.C. (Before Computers), I studied and admired many hand-lettered signs. Being familiar with the sign artists in the community, I recognized their work even when they didn’t leave their John Hancock on it. Today, though, I see mostly computer-assisted work, and I don’t have a clue who the artist is, unless I see their name on it.
