A little planning can save a lot of material
On a recent flatbed printer/CNC router project, we used this trick to save material while making a more interesting product. While our router table is 5×10, our Mimaki flatbed printer is 4×8. To avoid a “straight across” visible seam in the finished sign, we broke up the sign at a design element—the bottom of the shirt, in this case. Routercut PVC letters were installed on the panel, detouring attention from the layers. We saved materials and no one will ever know!
