“Vintage” magnetic signs for a fine old Chevy pickup

After seeing the Beyond the routine magnetic sign feature on SignCraft.com last week, Gary Thorsby [Pacific Signs, Eugene, Oregon] sent us a few photos of the magnetics he made for the cool old Chevy pickup that he built a couple of years ago. We knew you’d like to see them.

“I just finished this set of magnetics a few weeks ago,” says Gary, “for my old Chevy pickup, which I built a couple of years ago when times were slow. Ever since I’ve finished the truck, friends have asked if I was going to letter my company name on it.

“I decided that I didn’t want people asking me about signs since I’m almost 72 and pick and choose the jobs I want to do. Instead, I decided to make up a company name. I call my truck ‘Rusty,’ so I came up with the Speed Shop concept. I chose to do a set of magnetic signs so that the name wasn’t on there permanently.
