Tips & Tricks: Successful vehicle graphic installation

When cleaning a vehicle, I start by washing the graphics area with auto windshield cleaner, which will not freeze, with a half-cup of ammonia added per gallon. It cuts the grime that can accumulate on the finish. Then I follow with auto prep cleaner from the auto parts store to remove wax and silicone. I finish by using denatured alcohol for the final clean on vehicle and glass surfaces before installing the graphics.

The metal or glass has to squeak when rubbed with a dry paper towel before applying decals.
