Step-by-step: Transforming a storefront

Most storefronts are a blank canvas for graphics. There is seldom very much remarkable or eye-catching about the big glass windows and entry doors, so it’s up to the signage to create the appeal. This can be a challenge since often the architect did not design the storefront to even accommodate a sign, much less give it full advantage.
Such was the case at Prince Ink in Norfolk, Virginia. Their vintage building has an all-glass storefront framed by a brick outline that was equal on top and sides. Owner Matt Wallace talked with several sign companies, and all suggested a blade sign mounted to the brick, but he didn’t think that would have the impact he wanted.
